إِنَّآ

innā

Indeed, We

أَرْسَلْنَا

arsalnā

[We] sent

نُوحًا

nūḥan

Nuh

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

قَوْمِهِۦٓ

qawmihi

his people

أَنْ

an

that

أَنذِرْ

andhir

Warn

قَوْمَكَ

qawmaka

your people

مِن

min

from

قَبْلِ

qabli

before

أَن

an

[that]

يَأْتِيَهُمْ

yatiyahum

comes to them

عَذَابٌ

ʿadhābun

a punishment

أَلِيمٌۭ

alīmun

painful

قَالَ

qāla

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

إِنِّى

innī

Indeed, I am

لَكُمْ

lakum

to you

نَذِيرٌۭ

nadhīrun

a warner

مُّبِينٌ

mubīnun

clear

أَنِ

ani

That

ٱعْبُدُوا۟

uʿ'budū

Worship

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

وَٱتَّقُوهُ

wa-ittaqūhu

and fear Him

وَأَطِيعُونِ

wa-aṭīʿūni

and obey me

يَغْفِرْ

yaghfir

He will forgive

لَكُم

lakum

for you

مِّن

min

[of]

ذُنُوبِكُمْ

dhunūbikum

your sins

وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ

wayu-akhir'kum

and give you respite

إِلَىٰٓ

ilā

for

أَجَلٍۢ

ajalin

a term

مُّسَمًّى ۚ

musamman

specified

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

أَجَلَ

ajala

(the) term

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

إِذَا

idhā

when

جَآءَ

jāa

it comes

لَا

lā

not

يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ

yu-akharu

is delayed

لَوْ

law

if

كُنتُمْ

kuntum

you

تَعْلَمُونَ

taʿlamūna

know

قَالَ

qāla

He said

رَبِّ

rabbi

My Lord

إِنِّى

innī

Indeed, I

دَعَوْتُ

daʿawtu

invited

قَوْمِى

qawmī

my people

لَيْلًۭا

laylan

night

وَنَهَارًۭا

wanahāran

and day

فَلَمْ

falam

But not

يَزِدْهُمْ

yazid'hum

increased them

دُعَآءِىٓ

duʿāī

my invitation

إِلَّا

illā

except

فِرَارًۭا

firāran

(in) flight

وَإِنِّى

wa-innī

And indeed, I

كُلَّمَا

kullamā

every time

دَعَوْتُهُمْ

daʿawtuhum

I invited them

لِتَغْفِرَ

litaghfira

that You may forgive

لَهُمْ

lahum

them

جَعَلُوٓا۟

jaʿalū

they put

أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ

aṣābiʿahum

their fingers

فِىٓ

fī

in

ءَاذَانِهِمْ

ādhānihim

their ears

وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟

wa-is'taghshaw

and covered themselves

ثِيَابَهُمْ

thiyābahum

(with) their garments

وَأَصَرُّوا۟

wa-aṣarrū

and persisted

وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟

wa-is'takbarū

and were arrogant

ٱسْتِكْبَارًۭا

is'tik'bāran

(with) pride

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِنِّى

innī

indeed, I

دَعَوْتُهُمْ

daʿawtuhum

invited them

جِهَارًۭا

jihāran

publicly

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِنِّىٓ

innī

indeed, I

أَعْلَنتُ

aʿlantu

announced

لَهُمْ

lahum

to them

وَأَسْرَرْتُ

wa-asrartu

and I confided

لَهُمْ

lahum

to them

إِسْرَارًۭا

is'rāran

secretly

فَقُلْتُ

faqul'tu

Then I said

ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟

is'taghfirū

Ask forgiveness

رَبَّكُمْ

rabbakum

(from) your Lord

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed, He

كَانَ

kāna

is

غَفَّارًۭا

ghaffāran

Oft-Forgiving

يُرْسِلِ

yur'sili

He will send down

ٱلسَّمَآءَ

l-samāa

(rain from) the sky

عَلَيْكُم

ʿalaykum

upon you

مِّدْرَارًۭا

mid'rāran

(in) abundance

وَيُمْدِدْكُم

wayum'did'kum

And provide you

بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ

bi-amwālin

with wealth

وَبَنِينَ

wabanīna

and children

وَيَجْعَل

wayajʿal

and make

لَّكُمْ

lakum

for you

جَنَّـٰتٍۢ

jannātin

gardens

وَيَجْعَل

wayajʿal

and make

لَّكُمْ

lakum

for you

أَنْهَـٰرًۭا

anhāran

rivers

مَّا

mā

What

لَكُمْ

lakum

(is) for you

لَا

lā

not

تَرْجُونَ

tarjūna

you attribute

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

to Allah

وَقَارًۭا

waqāran

grandeur

وَقَدْ

waqad

And indeed

خَلَقَكُمْ

khalaqakum

He created you

أَطْوَارًا

aṭwāran

(in) stages

أَلَمْ

alam

Do not

تَرَوْا۟

taraw

you see

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

خَلَقَ

khalaqa

did create

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

سَبْعَ

sabʿa

(the) seven

سَمَـٰوَٰتٍۢ

samāwātin

heavens

طِبَاقًۭا

ṭibāqan

(in) layers

وَجَعَلَ

wajaʿala

And made

ٱلْقَمَرَ

l-qamara

the moon

فِيهِنَّ

fīhinna

therein

نُورًۭا

nūran

a light

وَجَعَلَ

wajaʿala

and made

ٱلشَّمْسَ

l-shamsa

the sun

سِرَاجًۭا

sirājan

a lamp

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

And Allah

أَنۢبَتَكُم

anbatakum

has caused you to grow

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

نَبَاتًۭا

nabātan

(as) a growth

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

يُعِيدُكُمْ

yuʿīdukum

He will return you

فِيهَا

fīhā

into it

وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ

wayukh'rijukum

and bring you forth

إِخْرَاجًۭا

ikh'rājan

(a new) bringing forth

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

And Allah

جَعَلَ

jaʿala

made

لَكُمُ

lakumu

for you

ٱلْأَرْضَ

l-arḍa

the earth

بِسَاطًۭا

bisāṭan

an expanse

لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟

litaslukū

That you may go along

مِنْهَا

min'hā

therein

سُبُلًۭا

subulan

(in) paths

فِجَاجًۭا

fijājan

wide

قَالَ

qāla

Said

نُوحٌۭ

nūḥun

Nuh

رَّبِّ

rabbi

My Lord

إِنَّهُمْ

innahum

Indeed, they

عَصَوْنِى

ʿaṣawnī

disobeyed me

وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟

wa-ittabaʿū

and followed

مَن

man

(the one) who

لَّمْ

lam

(did) not

يَزِدْهُ

yazid'hu

increase him

مَالُهُۥ

māluhu

his wealth

وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ

wawaladuhu

and his children

إِلَّا

illā

except

خَسَارًۭا

khasāran

(in) loss

وَمَكَرُوا۟

wamakarū

And they have planned

مَكْرًۭا

makran

a plan

كُبَّارًۭا

kubbāran

great

وَقَالُوا۟

waqālū

And they said

لَا

lā

(Do) not

تَذَرُنَّ

tadharunna

leave

ءَالِهَتَكُمْ

ālihatakum

your gods

وَلَا

walā

and (do) not

تَذَرُنَّ

tadharunna

leave

وَدًّۭا

waddan

Wadd

وَلَا

walā

and not

سُوَاعًۭا

suwāʿan

Suwa

وَلَا

walā

and not

يَغُوثَ

yaghūtha

Yaguth

وَيَعُوقَ

wayaʿūqa

and Yauq

وَنَسْرًۭا

wanasran

and Nasr

وَقَدْ

waqad

And indeed

أَضَلُّوا۟

aḍallū

they have led astray

كَثِيرًۭا ۖ

kathīran

many

وَلَا

walā

And not

تَزِدِ

tazidi

increase

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

l-ẓālimīna

the wrongdoers

إِلَّا

illā

except

ضَلَـٰلًۭا

ḍalālan

(in) error

مِّمَّا

mimmā

Because of

خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ

khaṭīātihim

their sins

أُغْرِقُوا۟

ugh'riqū

they were drowned

فَأُدْخِلُوا۟

fa-ud'khilū

then made to enter

نَارًۭا

nāran

(the) Fire

فَلَمْ

falam

and not

يَجِدُوا۟

yajidū

they found

لَهُم

lahum

for themselves

مِّن

min

from

دُونِ

dūni

besides

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

أَنصَارًۭا

anṣāran

any helpers
