As-Saffat

وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ

wal-ṣāfāti

By those lined

صَفًّۭا

ṣaffan

(in) rows

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ

fal-zājirāti

And those who drive

زَجْرًۭا

zajran

strongly

فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ

fal-tāliyāti

And those who recite

ذِكْرًا

dhik'ran

(the) Message

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

إِلَـٰهَكُمْ

ilāhakum

your Lord

لَوَٰحِدٌۭ

lawāḥidun

(is) surely One

رَّبُّ

rabbu

Lord

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

(of) the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضِ

wal-arḍi

and the earth

وَمَا

wamā

and what

بَيْنَهُمَا

baynahumā

(is) between both of them

وَرَبُّ

warabbu

and Lord

ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ

l-mashāriqi

(of) each point of sunrise

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, We

زَيَّنَّا

zayyannā

[We] adorned

ٱلسَّمَآءَ

l-samāa

the sky

ٱلدُّنْيَا

l-dun'yā

[the world]

بِزِينَةٍ

bizīnatin

with an adornment

ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ

l-kawākibi

(of) the stars

وَحِفْظًۭا

waḥif'ẓan

And (to) guard

مِّن

min

against

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ

shayṭānin

devil

مَّارِدٍۢ

māridin

rebellious

لَّا

lā

Not

يَسَّمَّعُونَ

yassammaʿūna

they may listen

إِلَى

ilā

to

ٱلْمَلَإِ

l-mala-i

the assembly

ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

l-aʿlā

[the] exalted

وَيُقْذَفُونَ

wayuq'dhafūna

are pelted

مِن

min

from

كُلِّ

kulli

every

جَانِبٍۢ

jānibin

side

دُحُورًۭا ۖ

duḥūran

Repelled

وَلَهُمْ

walahum

and for them

عَذَابٌۭ

ʿadhābun

(is) a punishment

وَاصِبٌ

wāṣibun

perpetual

إِلَّا

illā

Except

مَنْ

man

(him) who

خَطِفَ

khaṭifa

snatches

ٱلْخَطْفَةَ

l-khaṭfata

(by) theft

فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ

fa-atbaʿahu

but follows him

شِهَابٌۭ

shihābun

a burning flame

ثَاقِبٌۭ

thāqibun

piercing

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ

fa-is'taftihim

Then ask them

أَهُمْ

ahum

Are they

أَشَدُّ

ashaddu

a stronger

خَلْقًا

khalqan

creation

أَم

am

or

مَّنْ

man

(those) whom

خَلَقْنَآ ۚ

khalaqnā

We have created

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, We

خَلَقْنَـٰهُم

khalaqnāhum

created them

مِّن

min

from

طِينٍۢ

ṭīnin

a clay

لَّازِبٍۭ

lāzibin

sticky

بَلْ

bal

Nay

عَجِبْتَ

ʿajib'ta

you wonder

وَيَسْخَرُونَ

wayaskharūna

while they mock

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

ذُكِّرُوا۟

dhukkirū

they are reminded

لَا

lā

not

يَذْكُرُونَ

yadhkurūna

they receive admonition

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

رَأَوْا۟

ra-aw

they see

ءَايَةًۭ

āyatan

a Sign

يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ

yastaskhirūna

they mock

وَقَالُوٓا۟

waqālū

And they say

إِنْ

in

Not

هَـٰذَآ

hādhā

(is) this

إِلَّا

illā

except

سِحْرٌۭ

siḥ'run

a magic

مُّبِينٌ

mubīnun

clear

أَءِذَا

a-idhā

Is it when

مِتْنَا

mit'nā

we are dead

وَكُنَّا

wakunnā

and have become

تُرَابًۭا

turāban

dust

وَعِظَـٰمًا

waʿiẓāman

and bones

أَءِنَّا

a-innā

shall we then

لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

lamabʿūthūna

be certainly resurrected

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا

awaābāunā

Or our fathers

ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

l-awalūna

former

قُلْ

qul

Say

نَعَمْ

naʿam

Yes

وَأَنتُمْ

wa-antum

and you

دَٰخِرُونَ

dākhirūna

(will be) humiliated

فَإِنَّمَا

fa-innamā

Then only

هِىَ

hiya

it

زَجْرَةٌۭ

zajratun

(will be) a cry

وَٰحِدَةٌۭ

wāḥidatun

single

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

then, behold

هُمْ

hum

They

يَنظُرُونَ

yanẓurūna

will see

وَقَالُوا۟

waqālū

And they will say

يَـٰوَيْلَنَا

yāwaylanā

O woe to us

هَـٰذَا

hādhā

This

يَوْمُ

yawmu

(is the) Day

ٱلدِّينِ

l-dīni

(of) the Recompense

هَـٰذَا

hādhā

This

يَوْمُ

yawmu

(is the) Day

ٱلْفَصْلِ

l-faṣli

(of) Judgment

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

which

كُنتُم

kuntum

you used to

بِهِۦ

bihi

[of it]

تُكَذِّبُونَ

tukadhibūna

deny

۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟

uḥ'shurū

Gather

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ظَلَمُوا۟

ẓalamū

wronged

وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ

wa-azwājahum

and their kinds

وَمَا

wamā

and what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used (to)

يَعْبُدُونَ

yaʿbudūna

worship

مِن

min

Besides

دُونِ

dūni

Besides

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

فَٱهْدُوهُمْ

fa-ih'dūhum

then lead them

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

صِرَٰطِ

ṣirāṭi

(the) Path

ٱلْجَحِيمِ

l-jaḥīmi

(of) the Hellfire

وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ

waqifūhum

And stop them

إِنَّهُم

innahum

indeed, they

مَّسْـُٔولُونَ

masūlūna

(are) to be questioned

مَا

mā

What

لَكُمْ

lakum

(is) for you

لَا

lā

(Why) not

تَنَاصَرُونَ

tanāṣarūna

you help one another
