An-Nissa

وَلِلَّهِ

walillahi

And for Allah

مَا

mā

(is) what

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَمَا

wamā

and what

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ

l-arḍi

the earth

وَكَانَ

wakāna

and is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

بِكُلِّ

bikulli

of every

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

thing

مُّحِيطًۭا

muḥīṭan

All-Encompassing

وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ

wayastaftūnaka

And they seek your ruling

فِى

fī

concerning

ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۖ

l-nisāi

the women

قُلِ

quli

Say

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

يُفْتِيكُمْ

yuf'tīkum

gives you the ruling

فِيهِنَّ

fīhinna

about them

وَمَا

wamā

and what

يُتْلَىٰ

yut'lā

is recited

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

to you

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

the Book

فِى

fī

concerning

يَتَـٰمَى

yatāmā

orphans

ٱلنِّسَآءِ

l-nisāi

(of) girls

ٱلَّـٰتِى

allātī

(to) whom

لَا

lā

not

تُؤْتُونَهُنَّ

tu'tūnahunna

(do) you give them

مَا

mā

what

كُتِبَ

kutiba

is ordained

لَهُنَّ

lahunna

for them

وَتَرْغَبُونَ

watarghabūna

and you desire

أَن

an

to

تَنكِحُوهُنَّ

tankiḥūhunna

marry them

وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ

wal-mus'taḍʿafīna

and the ones who are weak

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ

l-wil'dāni

the children

وَأَن

wa-an

and to

تَقُومُوا۟

taqūmū

stand

لِلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ

lil'yatāmā

for orphans

بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ

bil-qis'ṭi

with justice

وَمَا

wamā

And whatever

تَفْعَلُوا۟

tafʿalū

you do

مِنْ

min

of

خَيْرٍۢ

khayrin

good

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

كَانَ

kāna

is

بِهِۦ

bihi

about it

عَلِيمًۭا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

وَإِنِ

wa-ini

And if

ٱمْرَأَةٌ

im'ra-atun

a woman

خَافَتْ

khāfat

fears

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْلِهَا

baʿlihā

her husband

نُشُوزًا

nushūzan

ill-conduct

أَوْ

aw

or

إِعْرَاضًۭا

iʿ'rāḍan

desertion

فَلَا

falā

then (there is) no

جُنَاحَ

junāḥa

sin

عَلَيْهِمَآ

ʿalayhimā

on both of them

أَن

an

that

يُصْلِحَا

yuṣ'liḥā

they make terms of peace

بَيْنَهُمَا

baynahumā

between themselves

صُلْحًۭا ۚ

ṣul'ḥan

a reconciliation

وَٱلصُّلْحُ

wal-ṣul'ḥu

and [the] reconciliation

خَيْرٌۭ ۗ

khayrun

(is) best

وَأُحْضِرَتِ

wa-uḥ'ḍirati

And are swayed

ٱلْأَنفُسُ

l-anfusu

the souls

ٱلشُّحَّ ۚ

l-shuḥa

(by) greed

وَإِن

wa-in

But if

تُحْسِنُوا۟

tuḥ'sinū

you do good

وَتَتَّقُوا۟

watattaqū

and fear (Allah)

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

كَانَ

kāna

is

بِمَا

bimā

of what

تَعْمَلُونَ

taʿmalūna

you do

خَبِيرًۭا

khabīran

All-Aware

وَلَن

walan

And never

تَسْتَطِيعُوٓا۟

tastaṭīʿū

will you be able

أَن

an

to

تَعْدِلُوا۟

taʿdilū

deal justly

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

ٱلنِّسَآءِ

l-nisāi

[the] women

وَلَوْ

walaw

even if

حَرَصْتُمْ ۖ

ḥaraṣtum

you desired

فَلَا

falā

but (do) not

تَمِيلُوا۟

tamīlū

incline

كُلَّ

kulla

(with) all

ٱلْمَيْلِ

l-mayli

the inclination

فَتَذَرُوهَا

fatadharūhā

and leave her (the other)

كَٱلْمُعَلَّقَةِ ۚ

kal-muʿalaqati

like the suspended one

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

تُصْلِحُوا۟

tuṣ'liḥū

you reconcile

وَتَتَّقُوا۟

watattaqū

and fear (Allah)

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

كَانَ

kāna

is

غَفُورًۭا

ghafūran

Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمًۭا

raḥīman

Most Merciful

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

يَتَفَرَّقَا

yatafarraqā

they separate

يُغْنِ

yugh'ni

will be enriched

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

كُلًّۭا

kullan

each (of them)

مِّن

min

from

سَعَتِهِۦ ۚ

saʿatihi

His abundance

وَكَانَ

wakāna

and is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

وَٰسِعًا

wāsiʿan

All-Encompassing

حَكِيمًۭا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

وَلِلَّهِ

walillahi

And for Allah

مَا

mā

(is) whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَمَا

wamā

and whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ

l-arḍi

the earth

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And surely

وَصَّيْنَا

waṣṣaynā

We have instructed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

أُوتُوا۟

ūtū

were given

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

مِن

min

from

قَبْلِكُمْ

qablikum

before you

وَإِيَّاكُمْ

wa-iyyākum

and yourselves

أَنِ

ani

that

ٱتَّقُوا۟

ittaqū

you fear

ٱللَّهَ ۚ

l-laha

Allah

وَإِن

wa-in

But if

تَكْفُرُوا۟

takfurū

you disbelieve

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

for Allah

مَا

mā

(is) whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَمَا

wamā

and whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ

l-arḍi

the earth

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

غَنِيًّا

ghaniyyan

Free of need

حَمِيدًۭا

ḥamīdan

Praiseworthy

وَلِلَّهِ

walillahi

And for Allah

مَا

mā

(is) whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَمَا

wamā

and whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ

l-arḍi

the earth

وَكَفَىٰ

wakafā

And is sufficient

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

Allah

وَكِيلًا

wakīlan

(as) a Disposer of affairs

إِن

in

If

يَشَأْ

yasha

He wills

يُذْهِبْكُمْ

yudh'hib'kum

He can take you away

أَيُّهَا

ayyuhā

O

ٱلنَّاسُ

l-nāsu

people

وَيَأْتِ

wayati

and bring

بِـَٔاخَرِينَ ۚ

biākharīna

others

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

over

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

قَدِيرًۭا

qadīran

All-Powerful

مَّن

man

Whoever

كَانَ

kāna

[is]

يُرِيدُ

yurīdu

desires

ثَوَابَ

thawāba

reward

ٱلدُّنْيَا

l-dun'yā

(of) the world

فَعِندَ

faʿinda

then with

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

ثَوَابُ

thawābu

(is the) reward

ٱلدُّنْيَا

l-dun'yā

(of) the world

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ

wal-ākhirati

and the Hereafter

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

سَمِيعًۢا

samīʿan

All-Hearing

بَصِيرًۭا

baṣīran

All-Seeing

۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe[d]

كُونُوا۟

kūnū

Be

قَوَّٰمِينَ

qawwāmīna

custodians

بِٱلْقِسْطِ

bil-qis'ṭi

of justice

شُهَدَآءَ

shuhadāa

(as) witnesses

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

to Allah

وَلَوْ

walaw

even if

عَلَىٰٓ

ʿalā

(it is) against

أَنفُسِكُمْ

anfusikum

yourselves

أَوِ

awi

or

ٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ

l-wālidayni

the parents

وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ

wal-aqrabīna

and the relatives

إِن

in

if

يَكُنْ

yakun

he be

غَنِيًّا

ghaniyyan

rich

أَوْ

aw

or

فَقِيرًۭا

faqīran

poor

فَٱللَّهُ

fal-lahu

for Allah

أَوْلَىٰ

awlā

(is) nearer

بِهِمَا ۖ

bihimā

to both of them

فَلَا

falā

So (do) not

تَتَّبِعُوا۟

tattabiʿū

follow

ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ

l-hawā

the desire

أَن

an

lest

تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ

taʿdilū

you deviate

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

تَلْوُۥٓا۟

talwū

you distort

أَوْ

aw

or

تُعْرِضُوا۟

tuʿ'riḍū

refrain

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

كَانَ

kāna

is

بِمَا

bimā

of what

تَعْمَلُونَ

taʿmalūna

you do

خَبِيرًۭا

khabīran

All-Aware

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

who

ءَامَنُوٓا۟

āmanū

believe[d]

ءَامِنُوا۟

āminū

Believe

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَرَسُولِهِۦ

warasūlihi

and His Messenger

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

wal-kitābi

and the Book

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

which

نَزَّلَ

nazzala

He revealed

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

upon

رَسُولِهِۦ

rasūlihi

His Messenger

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

wal-kitābi

and the Book

ٱلَّذِىٓ

alladhī

which

أَنزَلَ

anzala

He revealed

مِن

min

from

قَبْلُ ۚ

qablu

before

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَكْفُرْ

yakfur

disbelieves

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ

wamalāikatihi

and His Angels

وَكُتُبِهِۦ

wakutubihi

and His Books

وَرُسُلِهِۦ

warusulihi

and His Messengers

وَٱلْيَوْمِ

wal-yawmi

and the Day

ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ

l-ākhiri

the Last

فَقَدْ

faqad

then surely

ضَلَّ

ḍalla

he (has) lost (the) way

ضَلَـٰلًۢا

ḍalālan

straying

بَعِيدًا

baʿīdan

far away

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believed

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

(again) believed

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

ٱزْدَادُوا۟

iz'dādū

increased

كُفْرًۭا

kuf'ran

(in) disbelief

لَّمْ

lam

not

يَكُنِ

yakuni

will

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

لِيَغْفِرَ

liyaghfira

forgive

لَهُمْ

lahum

[for] them

وَلَا

walā

and not

لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ

liyahdiyahum

will guide them

سَبِيلًۢا

sabīlan

(to) a (right) way

بَشِّرِ

bashiri

Give tidings

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ

l-munāfiqīna

(to) the hypocrites

بِأَنَّ

bi-anna

that

لَهُمْ

lahum

for them

عَذَابًا

ʿadhāban

(is) a punishment

أَلِيمًا

alīman

painful

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those who

يَتَّخِذُونَ

yattakhidhūna

take

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

l-kāfirīna

the disbelievers

أَوْلِيَآءَ

awliyāa

(as) allies

مِن

min

(from)

دُونِ

dūni

instead of

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

أَيَبْتَغُونَ

ayabtaghūna

Do they seek

عِندَهُمُ

ʿindahumu

with them

ٱلْعِزَّةَ

l-ʿizata

the honor

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

But indeed

ٱلْعِزَّةَ

l-ʿizata

the honor

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

(is) for Allah

جَمِيعًۭا

jamīʿan

all

وَقَدْ

waqad

And surely

نَزَّلَ

nazzala

He has revealed

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

to you

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

the Book

أَنْ

an

that

إِذَا

idhā

when

سَمِعْتُمْ

samiʿ'tum

you hear

ءَايَـٰتِ

āyāti

(the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

يُكْفَرُ

yuk'faru

being rejected

بِهَا

bihā

[it]

وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ

wayus'tahza-u

and ridiculed

بِهَا

bihā

at [it]

فَلَا

falā

then do not

تَقْعُدُوا۟

taqʿudū

sit

مَعَهُمْ

maʿahum

with them

حَتَّىٰ

ḥattā

until

يَخُوضُوا۟

yakhūḍū

they engage

فِى

fī

in

حَدِيثٍ

ḥadīthin

a conversation

غَيْرِهِۦٓ ۚ

ghayrihi

other than that

إِنَّكُمْ

innakum

Indeed, you

إِذًۭا

idhan

then

مِّثْلُهُمْ ۗ

mith'luhum

(would be) like them

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

جَامِعُ

jāmiʿu

will gather

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ

l-munāfiqīna

the hypocrites

وَٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

wal-kāfirīna

and the disbelievers

فِى

fī

in

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

Hell

جَمِيعًا

jamīʿan

all together

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those who

يَتَرَبَّصُونَ

yatarabbaṣūna

are waiting

بِكُمْ

bikum

for you

فَإِن

fa-in

Then if

كَانَ

kāna

was

لَكُمْ

lakum

for you

فَتْحٌۭ

fatḥun

a victory

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

قَالُوٓا۟

qālū

they say

أَلَمْ

alam

Were not

نَكُن

nakun

we

مَّعَكُمْ

maʿakum

with you

وَإِن

wa-in

But if

كَانَ

kāna

(there) was

لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

lil'kāfirīna

for the disbelievers

نَصِيبٌۭ

naṣībun

a chance

قَالُوٓا۟

qālū

they said

أَلَمْ

alam

Did not

نَسْتَحْوِذْ

nastaḥwidh

we have advantage

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

over you

وَنَمْنَعْكُم

wanamnaʿkum

and we protected you

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

فَٱللَّهُ

fal-lahu

And Allah

يَحْكُمُ

yaḥkumu

will judge

بَيْنَكُمْ

baynakum

between you

يَوْمَ

yawma

(on the) Day

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ

l-qiyāmati

(of) the Resurrection

وَلَن

walan

and never

يَجْعَلَ

yajʿala

will make

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

lil'kāfirīna

for the disbelievers

عَلَى

ʿalā

over

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

سَبِيلًا

sabīlan

a way

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ

l-munāfiqīna

the hypocrites

يُخَـٰدِعُونَ

yukhādiʿūna

(seek to) deceive

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

and (it is) He

خَـٰدِعُهُمْ

khādiʿuhum

who deceives them

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

قَامُوٓا۟

qāmū

they stand

إِلَى

ilā

for

ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ

l-ṣalati

the prayer

قَامُوا۟

qāmū

they stand

كُسَالَىٰ

kusālā

lazily

يُرَآءُونَ

yurāūna

showing off

ٱلنَّاسَ

l-nāsa

(to) the people

وَلَا

walā

and not

يَذْكُرُونَ

yadhkurūna

they remember

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

إِلَّا

illā

except

قَلِيلًۭا

qalīlan

a little

مُّذَبْذَبِينَ

mudhabdhabīna

Wavering

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

لَآ

lā

not

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ

hāulāi

these

وَلَآ

walā

and not

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ

hāulāi

those

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يُضْلِلِ

yuḍ'lili

has been lead astray

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

فَلَن

falan

then never

تَجِدَ

tajida

you will find

لَهُۥ

lahu

for him

سَبِيلًۭا

sabīlan

a way

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe[d]

لَا

lā

(Do) not

تَتَّخِذُوا۟

tattakhidhū

take

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

l-kāfirīna

the disbelievers

أَوْلِيَآءَ

awliyāa

(as) allies

مِن

min

from

دُونِ

dūni

instead of

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

أَتُرِيدُونَ

aturīdūna

Do you wish

أَن

an

that

تَجْعَلُوا۟

tajʿalū

you make

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

for Allah

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

against you

سُلْطَـٰنًۭا

sul'ṭānan

an evidence

مُّبِينًا

mubīnan

clear

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ

l-munāfiqīna

the hypocrites

فِى

fī

(will be) in

ٱلدَّرْكِ

l-darki

the depths

ٱلْأَسْفَلِ

l-asfali

the lowest

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلنَّارِ

l-nāri

the Fire

وَلَن

walan

and never

تَجِدَ

tajida

you will find

لَهُمْ

lahum

for them

نَصِيرًا

naṣīran

any helper

إِلَّا

illā

Except

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

تَابُوا۟

tābū

repent

وَأَصْلَحُوا۟

wa-aṣlaḥū

and correct (themselves)

وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟

wa-iʿ'taṣamū

and hold fast

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

to Allah

وَأَخْلَصُوا۟

wa-akhlaṣū

and are sincere

دِينَهُمْ

dīnahum

(in) their religion

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

for Allah

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

fa-ulāika

then those (will be)

مَعَ

maʿa

with

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

وَسَوْفَ

wasawfa

And soon

يُؤْتِ

yu'ti

will be given

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

أَجْرًا

ajran

a reward

عَظِيمًۭا

ʿaẓīman

great

مَّا

mā

What

يَفْعَلُ

yafʿalu

would do

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

بِعَذَابِكُمْ

biʿadhābikum

by punishing you

إِن

in

if

شَكَرْتُمْ

shakartum

you are grateful

وَءَامَنتُمْ ۚ

waāmantum

and you believe

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

شَاكِرًا

shākiran

All-Appreciative

عَلِيمًۭا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

۞ لَّا

lā

(Does) not

يُحِبُّ

yuḥibbu

love

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

ٱلْجَهْرَ

l-jahra

the public mention

بِٱلسُّوٓءِ

bil-sūi

of [the] evil

مِنَ

mina

[of]

ٱلْقَوْلِ

l-qawli

[the] words

إِلَّا

illā

except

مَن

man

(by the one) who

ظُلِمَ ۚ

ẓulima

has been wronged

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

سَمِيعًا

samīʿan

All-Hearing

عَلِيمًا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

إِن

in

If

تُبْدُوا۟

tub'dū

you disclose

خَيْرًا

khayran

a good

أَوْ

aw

or

تُخْفُوهُ

tukh'fūhu

you conceal it

أَوْ

aw

or

تَعْفُوا۟

taʿfū

pardon

عَن

ʿan

[of]

سُوٓءٍۢ

sūin

an evil

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

كَانَ

kāna

is

عَفُوًّۭا

ʿafuwwan

Oft-Pardoning

قَدِيرًا

qadīran

All-Powerful

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

يَكْفُرُونَ

yakfurūna

disbelieve

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَرُسُلِهِۦ

warusulihi

and His Messengers

وَيُرِيدُونَ

wayurīdūna

and they wish

أَن

an

that

يُفَرِّقُوا۟

yufarriqū

they differentiate

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

وَرُسُلِهِۦ

warusulihi

and His Messengers

وَيَقُولُونَ

wayaqūlūna

and they say

نُؤْمِنُ

nu'minu

We believe

بِبَعْضٍۢ

bibaʿḍin

in some

وَنَكْفُرُ

wanakfuru

and we disbelieve
