An-Nazi'at

وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ

wal-nāziʿāti

By those who extract

غَرْقًۭا

gharqan

violently

وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ

wal-nāshiṭāti

And those who draw out

نَشْطًۭا

nashṭan

gently

وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ

wal-sābiḥāti

And those who glide

سَبْحًۭا

sabḥan

swimming

فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ

fal-sābiqāti

And those who race each other

سَبْقًۭا

sabqan

(in) a race

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ

fal-mudabirāti

And those who arrange

أَمْرًۭا

amran

(the) matter

يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) Day

تَرْجُفُ

tarjufu

will quake

ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ

l-rājifatu

the quaking one

تَتْبَعُهَا

tatbaʿuhā

Follows it

ٱلرَّادِفَةُ

l-rādifatu

the subsequent

قُلُوبٌۭ

qulūbun

Hearts

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

yawma-idhin

that Day

وَاجِفَةٌ

wājifatun

will palpitate

أَبْصَـٰرُهَا

abṣāruhā

Their eyes

خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ

khāshiʿatun

humbled

يَقُولُونَ

yaqūlūna

They say

أَءِنَّا

a-innā

Will we

لَمَرْدُودُونَ

lamardūdūna

indeed be returned

فِى

fī

to

ٱلْحَافِرَةِ

l-ḥāfirati

the former state

أَءِذَا

a-idhā

What! When

كُنَّا

kunnā

we are

عِظَـٰمًۭا

ʿiẓāman

bones

نَّخِرَةًۭ

nakhiratan

decayed

قَالُوا۟

qālū

They say

تِلْكَ

til'ka

This

إِذًۭا

idhan

then

كَرَّةٌ

karratun

(would be) a return

خَاسِرَةٌۭ

khāsiratun

losing

فَإِنَّمَا

fa-innamā

Then only

هِىَ

hiya

it

زَجْرَةٌۭ

zajratun

(will be) a shout

وَٰحِدَةٌۭ

wāḥidatun

single

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

And behold

هُم

hum

They

بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ

bil-sāhirati

(will be) awakened

هَلْ

hal

Has

أَتَىٰكَ

atāka

(there) come to you

حَدِيثُ

ḥadīthu

(the) story

مُوسَىٰٓ

mūsā

(of) Musa

إِذْ

idh

When

نَادَىٰهُ

nādāhu

called him

رَبُّهُۥ

rabbuhu

his Lord

بِٱلْوَادِ

bil-wādi

in the valley

ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ

l-muqadasi

the sacred

طُوًى

ṭuwan

(of) Tuwa

ٱذْهَبْ

idh'hab

Go

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

فِرْعَوْنَ

fir'ʿawna

Firaun

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed, he

طَغَىٰ

ṭaghā

(has) transgressed

فَقُلْ

faqul

And say

هَل

hal

Would

لَّكَ

laka

[for] you

إِلَىٰٓ

ilā

[to]

أَن

an

[that]

تَزَكَّىٰ

tazakkā

purify yourself

وَأَهْدِيَكَ

wa-ahdiyaka

And I will guide you

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

رَبِّكَ

rabbika

your Lord

فَتَخْشَىٰ

fatakhshā

so you would fear

فَأَرَىٰهُ

fa-arāhu

Then he showed him

ٱلْـَٔايَةَ

l-āyata

the sign

ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

l-kub'rā

the great

فَكَذَّبَ

fakadhaba

But he denied

وَعَصَىٰ

waʿaṣā

and disobeyed

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

أَدْبَرَ

adbara

he turned his back

يَسْعَىٰ

yasʿā

striving

فَحَشَرَ

faḥashara

And he gathered

فَنَادَىٰ

fanādā

and called out

فَقَالَ

faqāla

Then he said

أَنَا۠

anā

I am

رَبُّكُمُ

rabbukumu

your Lord

ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

l-aʿlā

the Most High

فَأَخَذَهُ

fa-akhadhahu

So seized him

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

نَكَالَ

nakāla

(with) an exemplary punishment

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

l-ākhirati

(for) the last

وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ

wal-ūlā

and the first
