ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ

l-ghāshiyati

(of) the Overwhelming

وُجُوهٌۭ

wujūhun

Faces

يَوْمَئِذٍ

yawma-idhin

that Day

خَـٰشِعَةٌ

khāshiʿatun

(will be) humbled

عَامِلَةٌۭ

ʿāmilatun

Laboring

نَّاصِبَةٌۭ

nāṣibatun

exhausted

تَصْلَىٰ

taṣlā

They will burn

نَارًا

nāran

(in) a Fire

حَامِيَةًۭ

ḥāmiyatan

intensely hot

تُسْقَىٰ

tus'qā

They will be given to drink

مِنْ

min

from

عَيْنٍ

ʿaynin

a spring

ءَانِيَةٍۢ

āniyatin

boiling

لَّيْسَ

laysa

Not is

لَهُمْ

lahum

for them

طَعَامٌ

ṭaʿāmun

food

إِلَّا

illā

except

مِن

min

from

ضَرِيعٍۢ

ḍarīʿin

a bitter thorny plant

لَّا

lā

Not

يُسْمِنُ

yus'minu

it nourishes

وَلَا

walā

and not

يُغْنِى

yugh'nī

it avails

مِن

min

from

جُوعٍۢ

jūʿin

hunger

وُجُوهٌۭ

wujūhun

Faces

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

yawma-idhin

that Day

نَّاعِمَةٌۭ

nāʿimatun

(will be) joyful

لِّسَعْيِهَا

lisaʿyihā

With their effort

رَاضِيَةٌۭ

rāḍiyatun

satisfied

فِى

fī

In

جَنَّةٍ

jannatin

a garden

عَالِيَةٍۢ

ʿāliyatin

elevated

لَّا

lā

Not

تَسْمَعُ

tasmaʿu

they will hear

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

لَـٰغِيَةًۭ

lāghiyatan

vain talk

فِيهَا

fīhā

Therein

عَيْنٌۭ

ʿaynun

(will be) a spring

جَارِيَةٌۭ

jāriyatun

flowing

فِيهَا

fīhā

Therein

سُرُرٌۭ

sururun

(will be) thrones

مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭ

marfūʿatun

raised high

وَأَكْوَابٌۭ

wa-akwābun

And cups

مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭ

mawḍūʿatun

put in place

وَنَمَارِقُ

wanamāriqu

And cushions

مَصْفُوفَةٌۭ

maṣfūfatun

lined up

وَزَرَابِىُّ

wazarābiyyu

And carpets

مَبْثُوثَةٌ

mabthūthatun

spread out

أَفَلَا

afalā

Then do not

يَنظُرُونَ

yanẓurūna

they look

إِلَى

ilā

towards

ٱلْإِبِلِ

l-ibili

the camels

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

خُلِقَتْ

khuliqat

they are created

وَإِلَى

wa-ilā

And towards

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

l-samāi

the sky

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

رُفِعَتْ

rufiʿat

it is raised

وَإِلَى

wa-ilā

And towards

ٱلْجِبَالِ

l-jibāli

the mountains

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

نُصِبَتْ

nuṣibat

they are fixed

وَإِلَى

wa-ilā

And towards

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

سُطِحَتْ

suṭiḥat

it is spread out

فَذَكِّرْ

fadhakkir

So remind

إِنَّمَآ

innamā

only

أَنتَ

anta

you

مُذَكِّرٌۭ

mudhakkirun

(are) a reminder

لَّسْتَ

lasta

You are not

عَلَيْهِم

ʿalayhim

over them

بِمُصَيْطِرٍ

bimuṣayṭirin

a controller

إِلَّا

illā

But

مَن

man

whoever

تَوَلَّىٰ

tawallā

turns away

وَكَفَرَ

wakafara

and disbelieves

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ

fayuʿadhibuhu

Then will punish him

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

ٱلْعَذَابَ

l-ʿadhāba

(with) the punishment

ٱلْأَكْبَرَ

l-akbara

greatest

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

إِلَيْنَآ

ilaynā

to Us

إِيَابَهُمْ

iyābahum

(will be) their return
